Eco friendly caftans and tunics inspired by the ocean, made on main street. Ethically sourced and locally made in Los Angeles.
Our collaboration with Suria Artisan Batik continues with this beautiful fuchsia tribal print. Made exclusively for ocean+main, this beautiful fabric was blocked printed four meters at a time by hand and finished by Abdul Rahman and his family in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Pok Mud, as he is affectionately known, has been block printing since he was 18 and we were fortunate enough to watch him work at the Craft Center in Kuala Lumpur where he teaches his art to others. His wife, Azizah expertly dyes the fabric which was finished by their son, Azizi. (Watch the video below to see Pok Mud and his family at work.)
Made in our classic caftan silhouette, this floaty, super soft caftan comes with a removable belt that can be worn 4 ways: belted above the waist empire-style, tied at the natural waist, looped through the top and bottom loops and tied in the back for a clean line, or with no belt at all.
Watch our 'How to Tie a Caftan' video to see all the ways to wear it.
